At Connecticut Dressage Academy, we believe in doing things the right way: thoughtfully, thoroughly, and with the horse always in mind. Our program is built on proven principles that prioritize ethics, education, and long-term success. There are no shortcuts in good riding, and that’s exactly why our system works.

When you start with a strong seat, clear aids, and a true understanding of the horse, you’re building skills that will support you for a lifetime in and out of the saddle. Whether your goals are competitive or personal, we’ll help you develop them with care, structure, and support, every step of the way.

How does the program work?

We have limited spaces for beginner/introductory riders to begin their journey in dressage! Once a rider is established enough in their horsemanship and riding, they will earn the opportunity to lease! Our program operates with each rider leasing their favorite horse to progress on, and a custom training program is created for you and your horse. Leases are flexible, and offer many opportunities to grow and learn!

Classical Foundations, Lifelong Horsemanship
 

A year ago I was inspired to start riding again, I had not taken lessons in over 30 years. After checking out a few local places I was so lucky to find Katie! The barn has such a friendly atmosphere– no matter your age or ability level you will feel at home here. The horses are healthy and well cared for. Weekly horsemanship classes are included in the membership which allows you to learn so much more about caring for the horses and riding technique. I’ve learned so much in the time I have been taking lessons here and gained so much confidence around the horses. A wonderful break from the busy and stressful work week. My adult group lesson is my favorite night of the week! Thank you Connecticut Dressage Academy!
